The Harlow Open is an established exhibition that showcases and encourages the talent of Harlow and beyond.
Anybody can submit and this year the brief is to create an artwork (in any medium) measuring exactly 20 x 20cm. All entries will be exhibited. The submission deadline is 17th January 2020 at 5pm.

Brief: Make an artwork measuring exactly 20 x 20cm including frame if applicable.
All artwork excluding freestanding sculptures must be made on (or fixed to) a rigid support with a hanging device attached to the back. If the work is on a conventional canvas or panel, or it is framed, please ensure mirror plates are screwed onto the back, one plate on each side. Your name, contact details, and price of the work if it is for sale should be attached to the back.
Please note that work is submitted at the owner’s risk. The Gibberd Gallery takes no responsibility for loss or damage.
Medium – All media welcome. Painting, drawing, print, photography, collage, sculpture, ceramic, glass, textiles, crochet etc. Please note sculptures must measure 20 x 20 x 20cm.
No selection – Everything submitted will be accepted and shown as long as it meets the brief. The Gibberd Gallery reserves the right to reject any work that might cause offence.
Submission fees – Submission is £5 per artwork. Under 18s submit for free.
Submission dates – Tuesday 14th, Wednesday 15th, Thursday 16th, Friday 17th January 2020 in the Gibberd Gallery.
Save the date – The exhibition will open on Thursday 23rd January 2020 at 6.30pm in the Gibberd Gallery. Prizes will be awarded by a panel of special guest judges at 7pm.
